Privacy
Short version: no accounts, no cookies, nothing kept beyond a one-hour cache and a few days of server logs.

What this site collects
Metadata Scout has no accounts and sets no cookies. When you scan a URL, that URL is sent to our server, which fetches the page once and returns what it found.
- The URL you scan. It is used to fetch the page and build the result. The result is cached on Cloudflare's edge for one hour so repeat scans are fast, then it expires.
- Request logs. Cloudflare Workers logs each request, including your IP address, the path and the scanned URL, for operational debugging. Logs are kept for a few days and are not used for anything else.
- Aggregate analytics. Cloudflare Web Analytics records page views without cookies, fingerprinting or cross-site tracking. We see totals, not individuals.
- Theme preference. If you switch between light and dark, the choice is stored in your browser's local storage. It never leaves your device.
What this site does not do
- No sign-in, no email collection, no newsletters.
- No advertising or ad-tech scripts.
- No selling or sharing of scan history. There is no scan history beyond the one-hour cache.
Third parties
The site runs on Cloudflare Workers. Cloudflare processes requests as our infrastructure provider under its own privacy policy. No other third party receives data from this site.
Site owners
Scans fetch public pages the way any crawler would, identified by the user agent MetadataScout/1.0 with a link back to this site. If you would rather your site were not scanned, contact us and we will exclude it.
Changes
If this policy changes, the date at the top of this page changes with it.
